Projected Design
The tumor marker test is modeled after a diabetic glucose meter. After applying a blood sample to a specialized test strip, the user will insert the strip into the bottom of the meter. The meter will analyze the composition of the blood, and display its findings on the screen.
The results of the meter will be organized into two columns, indicating normal readings with a green circle and abnormal readings with a red circle. If an abnormality is detected, the meter will inform the user that they must seek medical attention.
This sample reading indicates that the user has an abnormality regarding Cancer Antigen 15-3, which is monitored to identify the recurrence of cancer in a patient.
The user interface of the test is simplistic for the sake of clarity. The test is designed to decrease the amount of time required to detect cancer in the body, and a confusing interface could inhibit patients from understanding their readings. The test would be used once a day to monitor blood composition frequently and efficiently.
